Scammers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They scam my family for years, one of their salesman come to my house and told my parents that they were going to install safe security cameras for them which they never did. We still pay monthly till now for free, we gain no service at all.

All the money that we pay it goes for free which is about $120 per month. If I were to put all of the money together it would be in a thousand of thousand. So I would like to lawsuits this company because whenever I try to contact them that I want to cancel my account they won’t let me because they said I was still in their contract. Which we have to pay every month with no camera system at all.

The salesman should be fire for scamming people. Whenever I call him he would always make up excuses.

This company is not worth it. Losing too much money.

Multiple mortgage payment deductions - repeated!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I make my mortgage payment through this servicer's phone payment system. I spoke with an agent at the beginning of November 2014 to make my November payment. When I awoke the next morning, they had deducted TWO payments which threw my checking account into overdraft status, incurring fees and chaos in our family finances.

The payment was returned following the weekend but, this did not stop the domino effect (the error that keeps on giving.)

THEN, three weeks later, the same scenario was repeated only I had not made another payment. Yet, Shellpoint withdrew almost $3,000 in funds AGAIN from my account. We have a long history of problems with this company and their predecessors NEW PENN, RESURGENT, and now SHELLPOINT. If you can, get your loan elsewhere.

File a complaint with Consumerfinance.gov 1-85*-***-**** this is an agency that Shellpoint/Resurgent have to answer to. They did the same thing to us and when we complained to the BBB they had the nerve to try and retaliate by being nasty and refusing to respond to phone calls.

They need to be out out of business.... What they sow they will reap...it's just a matter of time!

Posted someone elses payment to my account and a bogus fee

January 2014 my Resurgent statement showed an extra payment 'unapplied' that was made to my account. There was also a $10 fee which Resurgent customer service said was a foreclosure fee from the previous mortgage company, Selene Finance.

I called Resurgent repeatedly, and I emailed them, requesting them to remove the extra payment which was not mine and the bogus $10 fee. The extra payment was removed, and then it was applied a second time a week later. My mortgage has changed hands multiple times since I refinanced my loan under the HARP program in October 2012 with New Penn Financial. New Penn transferred my loan within 30 days to Selene Finance who transferred my loan to Resurgent in November 2013.

I just learned from Resurgent's website that my loan will be transferring again to Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing in March 2014. Something is really wrong with these transactions. I will be contacting my US Senators and providing them copies of all paperwork since I refinanced under the HARP program. I suspect there's a legal loophole somewhere that is benefiting these companies to keep transferring my loan.

Resurgent was the worst.

I read Resurgent was acquired by Shellpoint in January. This is when everything fell apart, and I blame the employees who should be held accountable under the law if it is proven they misused computer systems holding PII.

Resurgent was merged with shellpoint. Shellpoint is owned by New Penn Financial.

They are all the same! They are messing with you! New Penn Financial is run by Countrywide ex-executives.

They are buying the very same bad loans they originally created. It's a bad joke....on us.

Guest

I had a similar issue. Refinanced with New Penn Financial then Selene to Resurgent to Shellpoint now.

Ever since Shellpoint, I've been having problems ever since.

Check my account weekly online but even now their webpage seems to be down for a whole week. I too went through the HARP program.

Guest

I sent them 2 checks for May's mortgage payment and neither one has been cashed. Yet their collections people keep calling me asking when I will be paying.

One rep told me I sent it to the wrong address.....the address posted on their website.

Another rep told me it was the proper address but payment processing was backed up so I shouldn't worry. Who is going to worry when they ruin my credit while two of my checks are floating around in their office somewhere or were thrown out.

Guest

My mortgage was transfered from Selene to Resurgent to Shellpoint. With Shellpoint, I've made two payments, and they managed to fail to post credit for the second check (it cleared thru my Bank though).

I agree, either this company is incompetent, or there's fraud involved.

Guest

This was the first month I paid using Shell point at the same address? Wells Fargo says the check was cashed and three call over last 3 weeks they can't find it...I even emailed 2 2 Customer Reps my bank check and still no posting. Something is wrong.....

Guest

Wow... Well maybe they applied my mortgage payment to your account, because despite clear records from my bank that my monthly payment was paid by ach withdrawal as usual, they say they have not received it.

I also received a $10.

Charge for no reason. Maybe a class action suit is in order?

Guest

Well dides got a better response from Shellpoint than I have. I have been trying to get in contact with someone for the past couple weeks.

My numerous emails have remained unanswered, the "live chat" never has anyone available, and after the "this call will be recorded" recording on the phone, I get disconnected every time! My story is almost identical to the above with all the transferring of my loan, and now they have my loan to value ratio so far off I would be paying PMI until who knows when.

Guest

Resurgent is the worst! They did not pay my taxes and I was 1-day away from getting a lien on my house!!

What was worst is that after me calling repeatedly, they kept LYING to me. I have all the lies documented and I will be making a formal complaint to the feds. I already called the BBB however they said b/c Resurgent took of the situation and I did NOT get a lien, my complaint was useless.

Now I am dealing with Shellpoint and it is just as bad customer service -- I have been trying for 2 weeks to get in touch with them -- yes, taxes again (it is weird that I am "not allowed" to talk to anyone in the Tax Department) but the recorded message states that there are extremely higher than usual call volume and I have stayed on hold for over 2 hours w/out anyone picking up!

Something needs to be done b/c now the rates are up and I can't refinance right now -- we just did (which is how we ended up Resurgent/Shellpoint). Aughghghggh!

Reported Late Payments for a time they did not even service my loan

My original mortgage loan was with bank of America and was sold to a private investor "U.S. Bank National Association, as Trustee for CVF II Mortgage Trust I

I had filed a bankruptcy Chapter 7 (7-1/2) years ago and neither BOA or my attorney ever filed a reaffirmation of my loan, this being said no made or missed payments could be reported to the credit bureau's.

Resurgent filed late payments for a period that I was making payments to them for a modification that was approved by Bank of America prior to my loan being sold. Then in March 2014 it was moved again to Fay Servicing supposedly because Resurgent was unable to manage the account properly and the private investor moved it to Fay Servicing.

I have no complaints about Fay Servicing at this time, they actually did help in lower me interest rate and payments to fix errors made by Bank of America & Resurgent, Although I think they could of given me an even lower interest rate. Original Rate was 6.125% they lowered it to 5.25% and I really feel it should have been lowered to 3-4% to help with my hardship but like so many they try keeping money in there pocket despite the needs of so many customers who are really trying to keep there home for the rest of their life

Selene finance was doing things right but I feel like Im stuck in a bad situation.

Going to contact a Real Estate Lawyer soon. I have even expressed to the company how I feel and they are causing me major stress and all I wanna do is pay my mortgage.

Resurgent Mortgage acts in bad faith

I submitted a package for assistance trying to avoid foreclosure. Differe t excuses for not being able to even look at my applicatiin due to foreclosure sale date. (There was no sale date). I dont make enough money. It is not in the best intrest of the investor to give me a loa modification. Underwritting takes 2 or 3 days to reach a desicion and is always NO. Rude from the beginning. They do not look at the aplications, they are actors that pretend to re iew applications. My loan was part of the Departme t of justice settlement with the lender. They were ordered to re iew my loan for principal reduction.

They transfered my loan to shellpoint mortgage. The Same people answers the phone. Same negociator assigned to my file.

I requested to send me an application to apply for assistance to avoid foreclosure 3 different times. No applicatiin received, instead, they filed a sale date for my home. I asked directly if they were refusing to accept an application. The answer was, there was a glitch in the computer preventing the application from being mailed to me. I printed my own application sent it. 8 to 10 days later I was denied. I was denied before they even sent me an application. How long does the IRS takes to process a 4506-T ? Probably a few weeks. They deny me in about a week.

I had no choice but to sue them. We need to teach this abusive mortgage servicers that they are not above the law. As I told them on the phone. Im so sick a d tired of them playing games with me . They are ot obligated to approve my request for assistance, but the banks received a lot of money from the government a d agreed to ooperate in exchange to try help customers to avoid foreclosure.

These people are crooks, They might take my home sooner or later, but I am not going down quietly. It is going to cost them some time and money to get rid of me.

Resurgent Mortgage Sevicing Company opened up an Homeowner's insurance Policy at four times the cost of my own now they are billing me

I received a letter in December 2013 stating that Resurgent had opened a homeowner insurance policy on my property. I

received a bill in the amount of $3844.85 for two homeowner insurance policies on my home. The insurance premium that Resurgent opened was $2986.00. That policy never should have been opened in the first place.

I received a letter from Resurgent in October of 2013 requesting a copy of my homeowner declaration page with Resurgent Mortgage Servicing listed as the Insured. I faxed that document in as requested in October. I called Resurgent to verify it had been received. I received another letter in November saying the proof of my homeowner insurance had not been received. I called and was told yes it had been received but Resurgent needed a copy of the Master Policy of my Home Owner Association with Resurgent listed on it. I scanned a copy of that document to Resurgent. I called to verify it had been received. Then I receive a letter in December from Resurgent saying they were going open an insurance policy in my name with Resurgent as payee. I called Resurgent who said they had all the documentation needed from me and there was no Insurance opened for me and not to worry. I then receive a bill from Resurgent for two insurance policies, the insurance policy they opened for me and my homeowners insurance with MetLife. I have paid my mortgage and provided all the documentation requested from Resurgent and I am not willing to pay for additional insurance I don’t want or need.

This company is unprofessional and incompetent. I am going to have to hire an attorney to deal with them. I would love to open a class action suite as there seems to be many complaints about them.

The past year I have same frustration with Resurgent mortgage company. They screwed up my ACH withdraw several months, I called to have it fixed, but it took them 4 months to correct it.

Now, September 2014, they did again, they took out wrong amount again. I had several mortgage servicing companies in the past, but never had this bad experience as Resurgent mortgage company.

Resurgent did not credit my mortgage payment

I sent my mortgage payment check in several days before it was due. 10 days after I sent it the check was submitted to my bank account for payment.

Payment was made. One week later I received a phone call informing me that Resurgent had not received payment. I explained that it had, gave them the check #, the amount of the check, and the date it cleared my bank. They asked me to email a copy of the check to them.

My bank advised me not to do that because of security issues and suggested sending it by fax instead. I called Resurgent back and got the fax #. My bank sent the fax (and I received a copy and verification that the fax went through). I followed up with 2 more phone calls but neither the payment nor the fax had been received.

Finally, more than 2 weeks after the check was paid from my account, I finally broke down and authorized my bank to email them a copy of the cancelled check. I am still waiting to hear what is going on. I have since gotten a written statement from Resurgent claiming they have not received payment. This is the second time this has happened with this company in the short time I have been dealing with them (they were sold my account servicing by my former mortgage co.).

I have never had so much trouble with a mortgage company before and I am 62 years old so I have had plenty of mortgage companies and have never been late for a payment. I give this company an F rating and wish I could be free of them.

Inability to provide any regular monthly billing

My mortgage was transferred to Resurgent in oct 2013. Since then the only bills I have receeived are collection /inaccurate bills.

My account is up to date and in spite of repeated contacts with the servicing dept and explainations by them I still have not received a regular monthly statement. I am now having to contact the attorney generals office in my state, DE, and I am going to contact the attorney generals office in SC to see if anything can be done.

It's hard to believe they are that incompetent. I originally thought they were trying to defraud me but apparently they just do not have their act together

Failed to pay home insurance from escrow.

My mortgage was also sold to Resurgent from Selene. It's been a disaster ever since.

It's almost as if this company has an intitutional policy of being dishonest. As a result of their incompetence we lost our home insurance due to non-payment (even though I had been diligently sending them my payment including funds to cover my escrow). I secured new insurance and paid an full and have been trying to get an escrow review for over a month now. They keep telling me that the request was made but confirmation deadlines (they promised to tell me via letter) keep passing.

Are there any laws protecting the consumer from companies like this?

I didn't choose Resurgent and I feel as if I'm stuck with them.

I'm seriously considering taking puntative legal action for my lost time (many hours on the phone getting the run around). I think this would make an excellent class action lawsuite.

I would love to help file a class action suit against this company. I think they are incompetent, dishonest, and a consumer is at risk of losing insurance, home, and more by enlisting their services or having their mortgage sold to them like what happened to me.

Hi There,

I'm having the exact same issue. My home has been without insurance for the last 3 months because of them...

I could not get them to figure out what the issues was so I went ahead and payed the insurance out of my pocket, although I still pay the bundle with them.

Anyone please let me know what the solution was and if it has gotten resolved. I'll be filing a complaint as well. The person I've been contacting in regards to this issues is Hendrix, Meranda and I can say I have called her many times and sent her ~30 email but she only gives me a response of I'll contact you tomorrow and she never does.

Please let us know what was the solution to this issues which has taken many hours of my life...

They buy debts, there a third party .dont give em a minute of your time.wall street,$$$$$ they think they are gonna get people's homes. So they can resell them. And collect new signatures.and insurance scams.

Thanks for this info. I was with Selene too and it has been a nightmare.

I received a letter of being late and it took them 90 days to reply so I have documentation I wasn't late.

I am on biweekly but they keep taking my payments out on all different dates. I'm worried and I am definitely filing a complaint too and with the BBB too.

Resurgent engages in bad business practices.

My payment is automatically debited from my account at a major bank and sent to Resurgent every month. Resurgent refuses to accept electronic payments (which is incomprehensible and indicative of their rinky-*** status), so my bank has to cut them a paper check (like a cashier's check, as the funds are debited from my account immediately).

This month, they called on the 12th and said they hadn't received my payment. However, my bank account was debited on February 3 and my bank sent them a check on February 4. The very rude collector who called me had no suggestions regarding what I should do next, except to tell me that if I didn't figure something out by the 16th I would owe a late fee. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there was nobody else in the office -- I would have to figure out on my own what Resurgent had done with my check.

It turns out that Resurgent is located in South Carolina and their offices have been closed due to Storm Pax, so I suspect they simply haven't processed payments yet because they didn't feel like driving in to work. Why is this my problem?

When I continued to inquire as to what I was supposed to do when my payment had been made and it was lost/backlogged on Resurgent's end, the collector actually hung up on me!

After the agent hung up on me, I went to Resurgent's website, created an account, and paid my mortgage for the second time this month. Luckily, I am financially able to do that, because I'm aware that many people can't. To add insult to injury, Resurgent charges a $2.50 fee for making payment on their website. SCAM!

Horrible, rude customer service. Scam fees. Wish I had a different lender.

For the second time in two months Resurgent has misplaced an auto-pay bank check. I have an "apology" email for the December 2013 misplacement.

Due to that experience I watch my account very carefully and began calling and emailing Resurgent since the 10th of February 2014 when no posting had occurred.

I have excellent documentation. Anyone know of a District Attorney Consumer Protection number we could start calling?

Failed to Pay Home Insurance

Our home insurance was never paid from July 2013. After 2 months of calling and submitting bills we cannot get anywhere.

Every phone call we are told it is being paid. Today we called and they can no longer find our account with our Social Security Number. We are told now they have to have proof it wasn't paid. We have been given the run around for the last 2 months.

They have a new excuse "reason" for not paying everytime.

My insurance agent has made many calls and provided all the information they have asked for. THIS COMPANY SUCKS!!!!!

Incompetent on several levels

I too was the victim of the sale of my mortgage from Selene to Resurgent. I was notified by my insurance agent that my home wind insurance was not paid and cancelled. I called Resurgent and was told they were waiting on paperwork from my agent. Called my agent who sent me a copy of the paperwork they sent Resurgent in response to their request.

Long story short, after more than 5 calls and speaking with more than 5 different agents, who all had a different reason for the issue, I was told the payment was 'accidently' deleted from the system and that they would reissue it today. Based on the information provided to me, a vendor company issues the payments and it was the fault of the vendor company. Resurgent alluded to the fact that the 'mistake' most likely happened to many. Possibly some sort of batch processing 'glitch'.

Customer service is highly unprofessional when dealing with customers on the phone. The staff appears to have little to no training, the company seems to be understaffed, it is extremely difficult and close to impossible to get any management level staff on the phone.... I think it might be time to engage the services of an attorney to have my mortgage files audited.

Are there any lawyers out there willing to take on a class action suite against Resurgent? I've never sued anyone in my life and generally perfer non-litigious approaches to resolving issues but Resurgent's negligence has really infuriated me and I'd like some compensation. As with your case, we too lost our home insurance because of their negligence putting us at great risk for financial ruin had something happened to our home as well as possibly affecting our credit score.

I don't know mortgage law but I suspect one could contact an attorney that does, let him or her know that resurgent recently purchased a high number of mortgages and is incompetently servicing them. Based on my call with the customer service supervisor, I think resurgent was previously, and still is, a debt collection service.

I think they are new to the mortgage service business but I could be wrong.

The supervisor did share that he was a manager of the collections and customer service department. They behave like they are debt collectors; untrained and unprofessional.

reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-768578

Has anyone noticed when you get a call or call them and wait to speak to someone that the recorded message states "this call is an attempt to collect a debt?" I have never heard that message from an HONEST mortgage servicing group - this bunch has to be debt collectors. THEY need to be audited! fined and shut down - most unprofessional, rude, incompetent group under one roof.

Don't refinance with Resurgent Mortgage Services

I made a mistake to refinance with this company and it has been a headache ever since!! When you pay your mortgage on time, you don't except to get a letter in the mail that you are behind on your payment.

Then you have to call them and stay on hold forever. So I sent them the check from the bank showing they had deposit it. But again a week later I receive a big package to fill out because they are stating I missed my payment. So I call them again, stay on hold for 45 min.

and customer service person say yes we received your payment but there is a late fee charged to your account. I said the late fee for something that was not late?! So she *** the late fee. I ask her to send me an email stating that the late fee was removed and she says I can't send email is against company policy.

I said mail it but no they can't do that either. I said let me talk to your supervisor, she puts me on hold for a long time then she says supervisor is not available!

Then she says do you want her VM and I said Ok then when we she transfers me the supervisor's VM is full!! This is how they run your mortgage account!!!
